about

HOT STUFF! A big cooking pot simmering with a mixture of hot rhythms collected on the African Gold Coast, the Caribbean Islands, South America, and the Southern United States.
HOT STUFF specializes entirely on New Orleans Rhythm & Blues, Mardi Gras Funk, and Modern Brass Band Music. The kind of music which is danced to in New Orleans night and day in clubs, bars and on the streets.
HOT STUFF's repertoire and sound are inspired by New Orleans legends such as Professor Longhair, Fats Domino, Dr. John, the Neville Brothers, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and the Rebirth Brass Band. Through their own arrangements and compositions, the band has its own unmistakable sound.
Funky line-up with trumpet and 3 saxophones in the frontline, and with drums and percussion, as well as keyboard, electric guitar, and electric bass in the rhythm section.
This recording of a live concert from 1997 has been in my archive ever since, and now, 25 years later, it is finally released.
Extended album with 20 tracks and a total playing time of 1 hour 28 minutes.
